Meet Patrick – Learn about His Leads Success

PatrickWe’ve been providing every agent a summary of our Lead Programs implemented for 2013, and how well they have worked for agents across the country.  Here’s an example of one agent for whom it has made an enormous difference this year.

Meet Patrick.  He’s been an agent with us for a few years, but had never been able to find a lot of consumers during Lock-In.  So he was experiencing a marked decline in production – not to mention income – during this time of year.  When we would talk to Patrick about different prospecting methods, he didn’t feel that others (like educational meetings or community events) were a fit for his business model.

Our Turning 65 Lead Program has changed his revenue equation.  After investing $458 in his first mailing, Patrick got 17 lead response cards back, converting 6 of those response cards into UnitedHealthcare enrollments.  This production then qualified him for a 1000 piece mailing, for which his cost was now only $50.

His experience has been consistent with what we’ve seen from other agents working with this program.  The lead piece our agents are using has generated an average response rate of 1.6% (16 lead cards for every 1000 mailed), and our agents have been converting about 35% of those leads into applications (5.6 sales for every 16 lead cards).

Patrick has continued to convert those lead mailings into applications, keeping his lead cost at $50 per thousand.

After qualifying for his first $50 mailing, Patrick kept converting leads into applications.  Those applications qualified him for additional mailings at discounted pricing. Additionally, Patrick was able to generate 4 additional sales from referrals from the consumers he met with from his lead mailings.
